Grouchy Cat’s Adorable Leaps Immediately Go Viral

For pet parents, we all know that our animals have very distinct personalities, just like our children do. Nimbus is a Siberian cat who is very vocal and has a grouchy temperament for the most part. His mom shares funny videos of him and his antics, and in this video she posted on Thursday, April 4th, Nimbus seemed to have some complaining to do.

The video starts with Nimbus leaping up onto his cat tree. Make sure that your sound is on to hear Nimbus' very unique meow, and watch to the end to see the cutest leap you'll ever see!

Nimbus got some serious air on that last leap! The video immediately went viral and has more than 10 million views, 1.6 million likes, and thousands of comments. @kaeli mae said, "THE JUMP HAHAHAH!!!!" and Nimbus' mom replied, "Almost made it to the moon with that one!" @YUKI asked, "What car is this?" and Nimbus' mom made me laugh with her reply, "He’s a 2020 turbocharged Purrari!"

Why Do Cats Love Zoomies?

Commenter @kaylee pointed out, "I love the *pretending to groom mid zoomies*!!!!" If you're a fan of Nimbus, you know that he is known for his crazy zoomies and his funny meows, and we all love to watch his silly zoomies. Did you know that zoomies actually have a technical name? They are called 'Frenetic Random Activity Periods' better known as 'frapping', and cats may do this when they are stressed, upset, or not getting the mental or physical stimulation they need. It's most common in indoor cats and kittens. Since zoomies are a sign that your cat is either bored or anxious, make sure to keep them stimulated with toys and other exercise.

Another thing that Nimbus and other cats enjoy is 'making biscuits', also referred to as kneading. Your cat might do this when they are getting ready for bed...making the spot nice and cozy. Some experts think this is a calming exercise that reminds cats of when they were kittens (kittens do this when they are nursing). Most experts agree that when they are doing this it's a sign of contentment. You'll hear them happily purring away and they may even look like they're smiling (unless it's 3AM and then you won't even want to open your eyes to see what they're up to!)

And while we all love to watch our pets do zoomies, remember that it means that your cat is probably bored and looking for some extra attention or looking for something to do so, they are not necessarily a good thing. But if your cat is making biscuits, he's a very happy cat!
