Green Middle School presents 'James and the Giant Peach Jr.'

Green Middle School Drama Club will present "James and the Giant Peach Jr." at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday in the cafetorium, 200 Smithie Drive, Smithville.

Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, Dahl’s "James and the Giant Peach JR." is a brand-new take on this "masterpeach" of a tale.

When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions.

Cast members in the Green Middle School Drama Club production of "James and the Giant Peach Jr." are Victoria Wyatt (Centipede) front left, Malayna Turpin (Ladybug), Riley Mullet (James), Sienna Watkins (Spider), Nathan Westover (Ladahord); Riley Grassman (Earthworm), back left, and Kyrie Wynn (Grasshopper).

James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks, and plenty of disagreements along the way.

All tickets are $10 and will be sold at the door or online. More information can be found at www.greenlocaldrama.com.
