Grammy Awards: Here's the records Taylor Swift and other stars could break this year

The 66th annual Grammy Awards are just around the corner, taking place in Los Angeles on Feb. 4. The awards show this Sunday could bring record-breaking wins for some artists, including Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and Billie Eilish.

Ahead of the show, there are some important questions that music lovers are dying to know: Who has won the most Grammys? Who could break the big records this year? Which artists were nominated the most?

Here's what you need to know before tuning in to the show this weekend, which airs at 7 p.m. CST on CBS and is available to stream live on Paramount+.

Who has won the most Grammys?

The Grammy Awards, which began in 1957, have a total of 86 award categories across musical genres. They celebrate the best of pop, rock, R&B, jazz, rap, Latin, classical, musical theater, and more—with thousands of musical creators recognized since the award show's inception.

Beyoncé has won the most Grammy Awards of all time, boasting an impressive 32 wins, yet she has never won Album of the Year. She broke the record at the 2023 Grammys when she won for "Best Dance/Electronic Music Album" for her 2022 album, "Renaissance."

Not far behind Beyoncé is the late Hungarian-British conductor Georg Solti, with 31 wins. Solti has the most wins in the classical genre, with his last win, "Best Opera Recording," for Wagner: Die Meistersinger Von Nurnberg in 1997.

Other artists to have taken home a plethora of Grammy Awards include Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, Yo-Yo Ma, Paul McCartney and Henry Mancini.

Who was nominated for the most Grammys in 2024?

This year, women ruled the Grammy nods, and one woman in particular reigned.

SZA garnered the most nominations of the ceremony with nine nods. Three of SZA's nominations were in some of the most notable categories of the show: Album, Song and Record of the Year.

Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, said, “It’s really spectacular," referring to SZA's success in a chat with Billboard. "She obviously had a banner year. Extremely, hyper-creative project,” he about her album "SOS."

“She’s extremely talented. The music really resonated with our voters,” Mason Jr. said.

Phoebe Bridgers and Victoria Monét each had seven nominations and were followed by Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Brandy Clark, Jon Batiste and Jack Antonoff with six. Other top nominees included Serban Ghenea and Boygenius.

Who could break records at the 66th Grammys?

Taylor Swift could win "Album of the Year" for a fourth time if she wins for “Midnights," which would make her the first artist to achieve that number of wins in the category.

Swift could also take home her first "Song of the Year" trophy for “Anti-Hero;” she broke records with her seventh nomination in the category. The nod makes her the most nominated songwriter ever.

Billie Eilish could become one of only three artists to win three "Record of the Year" awards alongside Bruno Mars and Paul Simon. She would also be the first female, solo artist to do so if she wins for song “What Was I Made For.”

If Miley Cyrus wins for "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance" for the song "Thousand Miles" with Brandi Carlile, the win would follow in her father Billy Ray Cyrus' footsteps. The win would make Miley and Billy Ray the first father and daughter to win in the category in separate years.

If Jack Antonoff wins "Record of the Year" for his production role on Swift's “Anti-Hero”, he would be one of the only artists that have won all four major awards at the Grammys, joining the talents of Adele, Billie Eilish and Christopher Cross.

Which Nashville artists could make history at the Grammys?

Nashville artists The War and Treaty, Lauren Daigle, for KING & COUNTRY, Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton and Kacey Musgraves are up for some record-breaking wins this year.

Here are the records they could break.

• The War and Treaty could become the first husband and wife duo to win in the "Best New Artist" award category

• Lauren Daigle could become the first female artist with two wins in the "Best Contemporary Christian Music Album" category if she wins for self-titled album “Lauren Daigle”

• For KING & COUNTRY could hold the record for the most wins in the "Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song," breaking their two award tie with Dolly Parton, if they win for song “Love Me Like I am” with Jordin Sparks

• Jason Isbell could become the first artist to win the "Best American Roots Song" category three times for song “Cast Iron Skillet;" he could also become the first artist to win the "Best Americana Album" three times if he wins for “Weathervanes”

• Chris Stapleton could extend his record for the most amount of wins in the "Best Country Solo Performance" if he wins his fourth trophy for “White Horse”

• Chris Stapleton, for “White Horse," or Kacey Musgraves, for “I Remember Everything” or “In Your Love," could equal Lori McKenna and Josh Kear as the songwriters with the most wins in "Best Country Song" category
