'Golden Bachelor' Reality Star Gerry Turner Allegedly Found Theresa Nist Too 'Uppity'
An insider is spilling the tea, claiming that Gerry Turner wanted a divorce from Theresa Nist because she was too "uppity" for him.
As The Blast has reported, the 'Golden Bachelor' couple announced their separation last week on 'Good Morning America.' The news came just three months after they wed in a televised ceremony.
Theresa Nist And Gerry Turner Claim Location And Family Led To Divorce
On Friday, April 12, Turner and Nist sat down with 'GMA' anchor Juju Chang where they dropped the bombshell announcement.
“Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations," Turner said during the 'GMA' interview. "We’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, [and] so forth, and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage."
He later added, “The thing that strikes me the most in our conversations [has been] how dedicated both of us are to our families. So we look at these conversations, and we both think it's best for the happiness of each of us to live apart."
Insider Claims Theresa Nist Was Too 'Uppity' For Gerry Turner
According to an insider, whose identity was not revealed, Turner found Nist too "uppity" for him.
“So I have to tell you this: I got some scoop sent to me, and I will not reveal their identity, but the following was told to me that their son's girlfriend is friends with Gary's youngest granddaughter," Kate Casey revealed on her podcast. "He is saying [Turner] wanted the divorce because [Nist] was too [quote unquote] uppity for him and used the example of she wouldn't pump her own gas and hated where he lived."
The state of New Jersey does not allow individuals to pump their own gas.
Theresa Nist Allegedly Did Not Want To Leave New Jersey
As The Blast has previously reported, Nist is happy with her job as a financial services professional and its current location, so it would make sense if she did not want to leave the Garden State.
“I could stay in New Jersey with my job [and] my family that lives down the street. I live close to New York City. I can take the ferry in, and I have a great night at a great restaurant and go to a Broadway show," Casey said of what Nist allegedly was thinking.
"And if I live with you, I'm in the house that you built with your wife, and there's nothing to do here, and we have nothing to talk about because we were on a TV show where we couldn't talk about real life feelings. So yeah, this sucks," Casey added.
She then speculated, "He probably wanted someone to take care of him, but was emasculated by a woman who made more money.”
Theresa Nist Breaks Silence On Divorce News
This latest report comes days after Nist released a statement following the divorce news.
"Sometimes things don’t go the way you planned, and that’s okay," she wrote in a lengthy Instagram post. "I take so many positives away from this experience, most importantly and above all, the incredible friends I now have in all of these amazing, wonderful women and in Angie and Jenny, Payton and Charlee, the producers, the production crew, and so many of you."
"To everyone who has expressed love, support, and kindness to me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart," Nist stated. "You are all such wonderful human beings. It means the world to me that you took the time to reach out to me, whether in person, on the phone, by text, or by direct message. You are all so kind to do so."
Gerry Turner Officially Files For Divorce
Gerry Turner wasted no time filing for divorce. According to PEOPLE, he submitted a petition to Pike Circuit Court in Indiana to dissolve his marriage with Theresa Nist just moments after the 'Good Morning America' segment aired on Friday, April 12.
According to US Weekly, the 'Golden Bachelor' lead listed an “irretrievable breakdown” of their marriage as the reason for the divorce.
