George Clooney Eats This Comfort Meal Once a Week

It should come as no surprise, but writing about food all day means that I pretty much have food on the brain 24/7. If I’m not thinking about the latest sandwich coming to McDonald’s or the new Doritos I want to try, I’m wondering what my favorite celebrities are chowing down on while I’m stuck eating my boring work salad. Because let’s be honest, it’s probably better than the wilted lettuce and chicken I’ve prepared for myself.

You’re obviously curious, too, or else you wouldn’t be here right now. So, let’s pose the question: what fuels some of the “sexiest” men alive? You’d probably guess salads, salads, and more salads. But, you’d be wrong.

The Dinner George Clooney Eats Once a Week

Sure, you probably won’t see People’s "Sexiest Man Alive" living off Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Cocoa Puffs, but we also know they don’t shy away from good food. Chris Hemsworth loves a cheesy pasta bake, John Legend likes to pair fried chicken and pancakes, and Matthew McConaughey will never turn down a juicy cheeseburger.

While there’s no telling if these hunky celebs save these foods for a once-in-a-blue-moon meal, we recently learned there’s one Sexiest Man Alive who eats the same dinner once a week. Viviana Frizzi, George Clooney’s private chef since 2013, told People that he and his wife, Amal, have a weekly pizza night.

“George and Amal’s favorite pizza is a margherita with [arugula] salad,” Frizzi told People.

It’s no surprise that the couple enjoy pizza nights, as they spend most of their time in Lake Como, Italy, and also have two young twins. Everyone knows pizza is a crowd-pleaser for adults and kids alike. And with an award-winning chef like Frizzi (who is a Como native) cooking, surely it’s some of the best pizza around.

We know Clooney’s favorite pizza is Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston approved, too. While Sandler and Aniston were in Lake Como filming their movie “Murder Mystery 2,” Clooney invited them over for one of his famed pizza nights.

“They invited Jen and me…we went over to their house. They made us homemade pizza and it was an amazing time. I sat next to Bono, it was a good day,” Sandler said on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.

How To Make George Clooney's Go-To Pizza Night Meal

If you, too, want to eat like Danny Ocean, you’re in luck because it’s really simple to recreate. You’ll start with a basic Margherita Pizza topped with tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and fresh basil. Then, it sounds like Clooney enjoys his pizza topped with a lightly dressed arugula salad—similar to how Ina Garten does it. You’ll want to choose a salad without a lot of pomp and circumstance—like this Wild Arugula Salad or Easy Arugula Salad—so as not to take too much attention away from the pizza.

There you have it, a simple weeknight dinner à la George Clooney. Sadly, however, the Lake Como house is not included.
