G.H. Bass Uses Cactus Plant Leather for Its Latest Loafer

As the originators of the penny loafer, G.H. Bass is an unsurpassed voice in footwear. Worn by the likes of Michael Jackson, Audrey Hepburn and Miles Davis, G.H. Bass and specifically its Weejuns loafer are the true definition of a classic.

Though deeply rooted in the past, G.H. Bass continues to make forward-thinking strides, specifically in sustainability. The latest model uses cactus plant leather by Desserto®, an eco-friendly company that uses the nopal cactus to create leather alternatives for everyone from adidas to Mercedes Benz.

The vegan Weejuns arrive in “Green,” “Burgundy,” and “Black” colorways and feature a recycled rubber lug sole underfoot. The loafer is available now via G.H. Bass for £175 GBP (approximately $202 USD). Take a closer look at all three iterations in the carousel above.

In other footwear news, adidas creates a new fall-ready clog silhouette in multiple colorways and the latest Nike Air Force 1 Mid features tear-away uppers.
