Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is not for the faint of heart.

According to the MPAA (Motion Picture Association), the film contains "sequences of violence and grisly images." Correspondingly, they’ve slapped it with an R-rating, meaning viewers under 17 require an accompanying parent or adult guardian.

That’s no surprise given what we’ve seen of the film already, with Chris Hemsworth’s Warlord Dementus putting Anya Taylor-Joy’s Furiosa through some serious hardship in a post-apocalyptic world devoid of water.

Furiosa also features an epic 200 person scene, Anya Taylor-Joy reveals.

The previous film, 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road, received the same rating from the MPAA for “intense sequences of violence throughout, and for disturbing images."

As per the film’s synopsis, “As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by the Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.”

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga premieres at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15, and arrives in theaters May 24.
