Forget Aldi, Costco’s Merch Is Way Better

The hottest spring fashion trend is in, and it's Kirkland Signature.

Just this month, Aldi announced they were releasing their first-ever line of wearable merchandise: the Aldi Gear Collection. From bucket hats to belt bags, the line features Aldi's signature four-color striped emblem and allows fans of the store to rep Aldi all day long. No offense to Aldi fans, but I've already pledged my allegiance to another store and would buy its merch over Aldi's ten times out of ten.

That would be none other than Costco's Kirkland signature line. While they don't necessarily refer to it as store merchandise, it basically is. As a self-admitted super-fan of the store, I am more than happy to rep the big box store while I'm out on the town.

Costco's Kirkland clothing is not only super comfortable and high quality but also, notably, reasonably priced. My favorite pieces from the "collection"— the branded sweatshirts and sweatpants—all cost under $22.

And I'm not the only fan of Costco's wearables. Back in 2020, one Costco sweatshirt, in particular, was in the spotlight after its hilarious, effusive reviews went viral. Last year, Christine Quinn, star of the Netflix series "Selling Sunset," told the "Wall Street Journal" that she loves the store's Kirkland brand black leggings. The popular DJ and musician Diplo was even spotted walking a red carpet in Kirkland digs.

In fact, I was recently at brunch at a particularly popular restaurant in Brooklyn, and spotted the chef-owner in none other than a Kirkland-branded sweatshirt. If it's cool enough for the major players of the New York dining scene, then it's definitely cool enough for me.
