The cameras of a new police show were recently focused on Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly and deputies as they arrested a man accused of shoplifting a felony-haul of shaving razors.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office was featured Tuesday night in the second segment of the second episode of "Police 24/7" on The CW channel.

The episode began with a camera person accompanying Detective Austin Dalrymple as he drove into the Target shopping center on State Road 100 and Belle Terre Parkway. The detective explained that they were looking for a suspect accused of shoplifting more than $1,000 worth of shaving razors from Target.

The deputy said Staly was in an unmarked vehicle in the parking lot by Ross and another detective, Daniel Malta, was parked by the McDonalds.

Dalrymple said they were trying to get the suspects before they “become too mobile” which would pose a safety threat with all the people in the shopping center.

Sheriff’s office vehicles blocked a car as it began to back out of a parking space and ordered a man out at gunpoint.

The episode showed Staly with his gun drawn backing up another deputy as the two walked up to the car to ensure no one else was inside.

Dalrymple pointed to bags found in the car which deputies said were filled with stolen razors. Detectives also said they found some meth and a couple of boxes of faucets.

Another deputy found a second man who had turned around and walked in the opposite direction when deputies moved in to arrest the first one. When found inside a Pinch-a-Penny store, the second man was asked to walk outside. The man said he was from Miami and came to Palm Coast aboard a train. He was also arrested.

When asked about his reaction to the show, Staly texted “It showed I’m not a sheriff that sits around a desk and how professional my team is.”

Staly also texted that when he drove up on the Target shopping center he did not know "Police 24/7" was filming.

“I just happened to be nearby when the shoplifting call came out and joined our team to apprehend them,” Staly texted.

Besides Flagler, the show also had a segment on the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office as well as agencies in Georgia and North Carolina.
