Will There Be a Fighter 2 Release Date & Is It Coming Out?

Starring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor, the Indian action film Fighter premiered on January 25, 2024. A Siddharth Anand directorial venture, the film garnered a 33% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. As of March 2024, the film has made ₹337.2 crores at the box office against its ₹250 crore budget. As Indian cinema seems to have come under the spell of sequels, there is much speculation about Fighter 2. This is what we know on the subject.

Is there a Fighter 2 release date?

Fighter 2 does not have an official release date, but it will likely be announced in the future.

During the development of the script of the first movie, the filmmakers agreed that they should make the film as a first entry in an aerial franchise. Viacom18 Studios, one of the production companies behind Fighter, announced their plans on Twitter (now known as X) in July 2021.

“After a decade of entertaining you with hits that are close to your heart, we are all set to up the ante of your cinematic experience! Get ready to witness India’s first aerial action franchise #Fighter with @iHrithik and @deepikapadukone,” the post reads.

In May 2023, a source reportedly told Pinkvilla that Anand intended to work on Fighter 2 after he was done with Tiger vs Pathaan. It is currently unclear whether the film’s moderate performance will have any impact on these plans. It is also unknown whether Roshan, Padukone, and Kapoor will return for the planned sequel.
