Our Favorite Fast Food Breakfasts For When You Need Something Quick And Easy

·3 min read

As much as some of us wish we could be the sort of person who wakes up early enough to prepare a lavish breakfast at home, life gets in the way. For days like that, fast food breakfast is the answer...but not all chain breakfasts are created equal (even though they are all, at baseline, very delicious). It all depends on what's available near you and the sorts of flavors you prefer in the A.M., but these are some of the best. They're so good you might even start waking up at your first alarm. Emphasis on might.

McDonald's

McDonald's breakfast is the standard of fast-food breakfasts. Even those people who don't tend to eat fast food in the mornings have enjoyed an Egg McMuffin or McGriddle at one point or another. They've gotten me through a number of road trips here and there, mainly because the flavors are the same you'd enjoy at a sit-down brunch (syrup, pancakes, eggs, bacon) combined together into easy handheld sandwiches. I'm still mind-blown by the fact that little pockets of syrup are inside of each pancake bun in a McGriddle. Pure genius. Plus, you can't beat their hashbrowns and their coffee is one of the best fast-food options.

Wendy's

When Wendy's breakfast hit the scene in March 2020 it was a total game-changer. Their breakfast menu leaned into the meals they do best: Baconators, Frostys, and chicken sandwiches. While Wendy's offers classic breakfast sandwiches like sausage and egg biscuits, it's the other items that steal the show. When Delish tried the menu before its release, the breakfast potatoes and Breakfast Baconator (made with sausage, American cheese, Applewood smoked bacon, a fresh-cracked egg, more cheese and more bacon all covered in swiss cheese sauce) were some of the best. Top it off with a Frosty-ccino, which is made with chocolate or vanilla Frosty cream mixed and mixed with cold brew.

Chick-fil-A

Although you're not able to get your morning meal from Chick-fil-A on Sunday, you can count on them every other day of the week. Their Chick-n Minis are a crowd favorite and feature their crispy chicken nuggets in a yeast roll with honey butter spread. Read as: The perfect excuse to eat chicken nuggets for dinner. Other options include the hashbrown scramble burrito, sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit, yogurt parfaits, and more.

Shake Shack

Known for their burgers, Shake Shack unsurprisingly makes a killer breakfast sandwich too. Opt for the sausage, egg, and cheese (that has a similar taste to their famous smash burgers) or a sandwich with bacon and egg or one that features no meat and makes the fried egg the star of the show. Up to you!

Taco Bell

Doritos Locos Tacos may not be appropriate for your A.M. meal, but Taco Bell has a few breakfast burritos and a breakfast Crunchwrap (!!!) that will change the way you start your day. Burritos come filled with cheesy eggs with your choice of additional toppings like sausage, steak, hashbrowns, and bacon. The breakfast Crunchwrap comes with eggs, bacon, cheese, jalapeño sauce, and a hashbrown and can be customized to include guac or onions. If you prefer something sweet, go for the Cinnabon Delights.
