Jennifer Lopez is under fire for allegedly being “rude,” discourteous and dismissive to a reporter at the 2024 Met Gala red carpet in New York City this week.

Anika Reed, senior news editor at USA Today, posted a video to TikTok and Instagram two days after the highly anticipated fashion event where the Marry Me actress, 54, responded in an unenthusiastic and terse manner to her inquiry about her attire.

After being asked who she was “wearing,” the “On the Floor” singer replied: “Schiaparelli,” looking the journalist up and down as she ascended the iconic Met Gala staircase, drawing criticism from some viewers who believed that she spoke condescendingly to Reed.

Jennifer Lopez Comes Under Fire For Allegedly Being ‘Rude’ And ‘Condescending’ To A Reporter At The 2024 Met Gala

Soon after Reed shared the clip of the interaction to TikTok, many viewers headed to the post’s comments section to share their thoughts. Many accused Lopez of speaking to the reporter “like she was a peasant.”

Another commented that Lopez’s “up & down stare is crazyyyy” as someone else asked: “Eww why she have the attitude?” One other chimed in, quipping that Lopez’s “kindness radiates through the screen” as others joked that the JLo Beauty mogul was a “ray of sunshine” and “bundle of joy.” Someone else wrote: “this makes me sad to see.”

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is currently hosting the Costume Institute’s official exhibition titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.” Lopez served as one of the Met Gala’s co-chairs this year. The annual gathering had a distinct theme of “Garden of Time,” which also determined the dress code for the event.

For her red carpet appearance, the Shotgun Wedding star donned a Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown crafted by Daniel Roseberry. Glamour reports that Lopez's intricate dress boasted more than 2.5 million silver-foil bugle beads and required 800 hours of skilled hand embroidery to create its eye-catching shimmering effect.

To top off her look, the mom of two added platform heels and carried a shiny gold clutch from Tyler Ellis. Lopez wore her signature caramel-colored tresses in a slicked-back updo with loose tendrils adorning the sides of her face.

As for her makeup look, the "If You Had My Love" singer sported rosy eyeshadow, voluminous lashes, radiant blush on her high cheekbones and a glossy pink pout.
