Fans Say 'She-Hulk' Is a Skinny CGI Disaster

One of Marvel’s most exciting additions to Phase Four (although we have no idea where it’s going) is She-Hulk, who first appeared in 1980’s The Savage She-Hulk #1. Jennifer Walters is a skilled lawyer who became a big green superhero completely by accident. All thanks to her favorite cousin: Bruce Banner.
On the day Bruce goes to tell her about his transformation into the Hulk, Jennifer is shot by a crime boss looking to get back at her father, who’s a Los Angeles County Sheriff. To save her life, Bruce gives her a blood transfusion and, well…the rest is history.
Set to premiere on August 17, Marvel’s new television adaptation She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (starring Tatiana Maslany, who has had much success on television with Orphan Black and Perry Mason), appears to take a slightly different approach to her origins. Bruce will be far more controlled with his Hulk, as he he teaches Jennifer how to control her new strength. Also, considering this is all taking place in Phase Four, it’s likely her origin story will happen in the post-Endgame world where most, if not all, of the original Avengers are retiring.
The trailer to She-Hulk came out recently, and while Tatiana Maslany’s performance appears to be locked in, and a closer look at the Hulk and his backstory is long overdue, fans are mixed on the look of the special effects. Granted we’re talking about a television budget and time constraints here, not a feature film, but many online are making the case that our She-Hulk isn't looking quite how they expected her to.
Hearing about how the people behind #Encanto had to bend over backwards just to convince Disney to let Luisa be muscular and now seeing the skinny-ass #SheHulk trailer is so frustrating. Women with muscles do exist and they are beautiful! pic.twitter.com/FqFrRSLsD5

witnessing the she-hulk backlash is awful when you know tatiana maslany is such a phenomenal actress. don’t give up on the show merely because of the cgi. tatiana’s acting isn’t gonna be as overshadowed by the cgi as many of you think because she’s an incredible force #SheHulk

Due to the backlash, some wonder if Marvel will pull a Sonic the Hedgehog and attempt to redo the CGI.

Comments on social media are also disappointed that the live-action She-Hulk isn’t as muscular as anticipated.
Then again, it sounds like She-Hulk isn’t going for a muscular look in this show.
There’s been some controversy due to how buff She-Hulk appears to be in the official trailer, and due to that it’s good to keep in mind that Feige said the show is based on the John Byrne run. This is more in tune with her original slimmer look. pic.twitter.com/Yz1UwhIPQz

And, of course, there were a few light hearted jokes about another green animated character…
