Fan Expo Philadelphia convention coming to the Delaware Valley in May
Into cosplay? Want to add to your collection of rare comic books — and do so while dressed up like Batman or Harley Quinn? Or perhaps you just want to snap a few pictures with celebrities and actors who starred in your favorite sitcom?
You will have the chance to do all of the above at Fan Expo Philadelphia, the three-day festival and comic book convention held the first weekend in May.
Here's everything you need to know about Fan Expo Philadelphia.
What’s happening at Fan Expo Philadelphia?
More than 40 celebrities, voice stars and cosplayers will have photo-op and autograph sessions throughout the three-day expo.
"Avatar: The Last Airbender" stars Dallas Liu, Ian Ousley, Elizabeth Yu and Maria Zhang will have booths, as will legendary actor Danny Trejo.
Actors who portrayed integral figures in the "Star Wars" universe will also have booths at Fan Expo Philadelphia, including Ashley Eckstein, who did the voice-over work as Ahsoka Tano in "Star Wars: Episode IX — The Rise of Skywalker;" Hayden Christensen who portrayed Anakin Skywalker in several Star Wars productions; and Alan Tudyk, who starred as K-2SO in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."
Catch the cosplay showcase at Fan Expo
Cosplay has its own tier of famous people, many of whom will also be at Fan Expo Philadelphia.
Cosplayers Shannon Noelle Cosplay, Sir Julius Cosplay, White Rabbit Cosplays, Jen Markham, Sameer Tikka Masala and Stellalasaurus will each have booths at the expo.

"Show your masterful work through exhibition of your cosplay creations at the Fan Expo Philadelphia Cosplay Showcase! Cosplayers may submit full costumes for consideration in this museum style exhibition," read a portion of the online application that needs to be submitted for the Fan Expo Philadelphia cosplay showcase. "The selected cosplays will be on display for fan admiration throughout the weekend and will feature the cosplay artist responsible for the work."
Other cosplay attractions at Fan Expo Philadelphia include the cosplay replica contest; a cosplay how-to and Q&A panel; and the cosplay red carpet.
Treats for anime, sci-fi and horror fans at Fan Expo Philadelphia
Aside from the celebrity meetups, Fan Expo Philadelphia will also host a series of Padawan Lightsaber battles. Best part? You can participate by signing up at the event.
"Jedi, Sith, and Padawans, get ready to ignite your lightsabers and dive into epic battles at Fan Expo Philadelphia," read a portion of Fan Expo Philadelphia's sci-fi offering. "These trials will provide (safe) sabers for a full contact battle in hopes of finding the Chosen One. Padawan Battles will be open to warriors 12 years of age and younger. Please note: all participants require a guardian to sign a safety waiver."

Horror fans can check sign up to test their wits and calm in the "Haunted Hints Escape Room" challenge. Fans of jump thrills and everything spooky can also stroll through the Horror & Sci-Fi Prop Preservation Association's pop-up museum.
Get advance tickets now to Fan Expo Philadelphia
Fan Expo Philadelphia will be held from Friday, May 3 through Sunday, May 5, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Center City Philadelphia, and if going, you need to act fast to take advantage of advance ticket pricing.
Fan Expo Philadelphia advance tickets will be available until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, April 18.
Advance tickets start at $38 for single-day tickets, $89 for the three-day pass and $129 for the ultimate fan package.
