Emporio Armani FW23 Proves That There's Always Room for Fun in Fashion

Emporio Armani showcased its Fall/Winter 2023 collection at Milan Fashion Week and it offered a slight tone shift to the other shows we've seen this season.

Kicking things off with an invitation featuring a smiling photo of model Noemi Ditzler, which first appeared in Armani Magazine in 1994, the showcase saw its numerous models parading down the runway with enormous smiles on their faces. Drawing inspiration from old Elizabethan theatre, Armani explored concepts of irony and humor for FW23.

The collection itself took cues from stage clothing, comprising small hats and asymmetrically buttoned jackets with wide-flowing trousers and defined waistlines. Exploring the concept of femininity and masculinity through silhouettes, volumes and textures, the collection seamlessly transitioned from soft mohair to durable canvas and textured velvet, through hues of black, white, grey and magenta with touches of metallic accents.

Merging daywear with evening clothes, FW23 saw the introduction of embossed velvet bombers, sequin-clad shopper bags and shirt collars as necklaces.

In other fashion week news, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid walked for Prada.
