Adventure is calling this weekend in Bloomington, whether you want to rage into the night, Emo Night that is, or watch thrill seekers take on the world's most challenging terrains. There's even adventure for your pooch at the dog park in Switchyard Park. For a more calm adventure, head to Ivy Tech's campus for an art reception with light d’oeuvres from culinary students.

Emo Night Friday at the Root Cellar

You can scream, dance or rage all night with DJ Axipitor beginning at 10 p.m. Friday at the Root Cellar Lounge, 108 E. Kirkwood Ave. behind FARMbloomington. The 21-plus show is free.

Oso Blues Trio at Orbit Room on Friday

Oso Blues Trio's "Angels" single release show will be 6-9 pm. Friday at the Orbit Room, 107 N. College Ave., Suite 001 (underground). Tickets are $7 with a $1 service charge.

Comedian Josh Gondleman returns to Bloomington Friday and Saturday

Writer and comedian Josh Gondleman performs at 7 and 9:15 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Comedy Attic, corner of Fourth and Walnut streets. Gondleman is currently a writer for "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver." Tickets are $16 for students and $20 for general public and can be purchased online at www.comedyattic.com or at the door.

Mad Paws Doggie Egg Hunt Saturday in Switchyard's dog park

All well-behaved dogs, attached to their owners with leashes no longer than 6 feet, can participate in the Mad Paws Doggie Egg Hunt 1-3 p.m. Saturday in the dog park in Switchyard Park. Canines can search for plastic eggs filled with treats plus a chance to win prizes with a dog theme. All dog park rules apply.

Find adventure at Banff Centre Mountain film festival on Saturday, Sunday

Action-packed films from the Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour will be shown at 7 p.m. Saturday and 5 p.m. Sunday at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, 114 E. Kirkwood Ave. The films for the screenings are different each night, ranging from mountain biking and skiing to caving and boating through rapids. Raffle prize drawings will happen at intermission. Reception for artist Tuesday at The Yellowwood at Ivy Tech

A free reception for local artist Susan Savastuk will be 5-7 p.m. April 2 at The Yellowwood at Ivy Tech Community College, Bloomington. Light hors d’oeuvres created by the school’s culinary students will be offered. A cash bar will have beer and wine. Savastuk's oil and watercolor paintings will be on display in the restaurant, located at 200 Daniels Way, Entrance 7.
