Emery Robbins’ singing performance Sunday on “American Idol” has propelled him into the show’s Showstopper Round, set to air Monday (April 1) at 8 p.m. on ABC.

Robbins sang the George Strait song “You Look So Good In Love” for the show’s Hollywood Week auditions, which aired Sunday. His performance earned him a slot in the next level Showstopper Round scheduled to broadcast Monday night.

Robbins, 18, an Ocala native and aspiring country and worship music singer, currently serves as student ministry worship coordinator at Church@The Springs.

Robbins was initially entered into the nationwide singing competition by a local minister aware of his talent. He  passed several preliminary auditions and then went to an audition in Nashville in front of celebrity judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

Robbins sang the Zach Bryan song “God Speed” in his first audition in front of the three celebrity judges and earned three “yesses” and a “Golden Ticket” on the Hollywood Week auditions, according to earlier reports.
