Several soccer leagues around the world kicked off this weekend, from the English Premier League in England to La Liga in Spain.
Prior to the season starting, Real Madrid — one of the best teams in La Liga — lost its starting goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to an ACL injury. To replace him, the club acquired Kepa Arrizabalaga. Many Real Madrid fans were upset about this news and pleaded for any other option — including putting midfielder Eduardo Camavinga as the starting goalkeeper.

This video made waves in the soccer community a month ago, and now that Real Madrid is in need, social media users are sure that Camavinga can get the job done. However, the confidence in Camavinga doesn’t stop there. Social media users have convinced themselves that the midfielder can do anything and be the solution to any problem.

According to the memes, Camavinga is also the answer to problems off the field.
Real Madrid just played its first game of the season, beating Athletic Club 2-0, and Camavinga is at the top of the soccer community’s mind. Currently, the hashtag #Camavinga has over 2.4 billion views on TikTok.
There are so many videos on TikTok about Camavinga that users have started another trend in the comment sections of these posts. TikTokers will comment and note how many Camavinga videos they’ve seen on their For You page.

Although Camavinga will likely stay in his position while Real Madrid finds a replacement goalkeeper, this season’s most popular running joke may have just started.
