According to Variety, Max’s Dune: Prophecy series has officially enlisted two new cast members for the forthcoming sci-fi prequel, which is expected to debut sometime this year.
The End of the F—ing World star Jessica Barden and Succession alum Jihae have been cast to portray the respective recurring roles of young Valya Harkonnen and Reverend Mother Kasha in Dune: Prophecy. An older version of Barden’s character will be played by Emily Watson.

Barden’s Valya Harkonnen is ambitious, stubborn, and forceful. She dreams of restoring her family’s noble status. When a tragedy shatters her plans for the future, she finds herself on a new path that leads to the Sisterhood.
Jihae’s Reverend Mother Kasha is the Emperor’s own Truthsayer and confidant. She occupies a position of great influence in the Imperium. But when a new challenge leads her to question the Sisterhood’s intentions, she finds her role increasingly difficult to navigate.
Who’s involved in the Dune prequel?
Dune: Prophecy stars Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Jodhi May, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Faoileann Cunningham, Aoife Hinds, Chloe Lea, Travis Fimmel, Mark Strong, Jade Anouka, Chris Mason, Josh Heuston, Edward Davis and more. The prequel will be executive produced by showrunner Alison Schapker, director Anna Foerster, Diane Ademu-John, Jordan Goldberg, Mark Tobey, John Cameron, Matthew King, Scott Z. Burns, Jon Spaihts, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt and Kim Herbert, with Kevin J. Anderson producing. It is a co-production between Max and Legendary Television.
Set 10,000 years before the ascension of Paul Atreides, the series will follow the Harkonnen Sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit. Armed with extraordinary abilities, this group of women weaves through the feudal politics of Dune, pursuing their own plans that ultimately lead them to the enigmatic planet Arrakis.
