Having a good time is in Dua Lipa's blood.

In a new cover story interview for ELLE, the English-Albanian pop star, 28, spoke about her family's love for partying and revealed she once ran into her parents, mom Anesa and dad Dukagjin, at a nightclub in New York City.

The Grammy winner told the outlet she went out with fellow pop star Charli XCX in the city's Lower East Side and saw her parents at a nightclub called The Box.

While many fun-loving 20-somethings would feel as though they needed to turn around and go home upon spotting their mother and father during a night out, Lipa was cool with it.

"We celebrate everything and anything, and we just love a party," she said.

"When I go to my aunt’s house, it all starts off pretty tame," continued Lipa, "Then the music comes on, and we’re all dancing in the house. And that’s a Tuesday!"

The "Dance the Night" performer also reflected on frequently spending time in nightclubs throughout her teenage years. "When I started [songwriting], I worked at La Bodega Negra, a Mexican restaurant that looked like a sex shop," she detailed.

"I’d finish work, then go out to whatever nightclub was happening until, like, three in the morning," added Lipa. "Then I would wake up and go to the studio until I had my shift again at, like, 8 P.M. The music I [made] was reflective of my every day, or every night."

Elsewhere in the story, the "Houdini" musician gave her thoughts on fans' claims that she's constantly on vacation. She's been called "Vacanza Queen" online as a result of the reputation she's garnered for frequently sharing photos from beaches or other picturesque locations around the world.

"I’ve been busy for almost 10 years," said Lipa. "Every single day, I’ve had some bit of work to do. But people are going to say something anyway. People say a lot of mean things about a lot of people."

She candidly quipped that if fans want to poke fun at her travels by giving her a nickname, "then I'll take it."

"Whether I’m performing or going out, if it’s not fun, I don’t want it," explained Lipa. "You have to make room for joy. The world can be burning down, but goddamn…if you didn’t spend any of your life trying to be happy, I don't know what you’ve done."
