Drake has a pulse on Hip-Hop and the influential moving pieces that help document it. Drizzy — who has been dubbed part of the culture’s “Big 3” along with Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole — has now implied who he thinks are the top three figures in Hip-Hip media causing major conversations.

Although the 6 God isn’t participating in much press nowadays, he recently gave No Jumper‘s Adam22 some insight on who he thinks is moving the needle in the media space. He gave props to Joe Budden over DJ Vlad, and sort of agreed on the inclusion of Adam22 and DJ Akademiks.

In a recent episode of the viral podcast, Adam shared a DM from the Canadian icon where he asked him about trending topic — being that K. Dot recently downsized his trio to just “big me” on the diss track “Like That.”

“I sent a message to Drake and I was hoping that his response would undermine sleepy Joe Budden,” Adam said, referring to Budden initially claiming to be in the “Big 3” of media before deleting his post on the matter. He then shared that Drake sent eight crying-laughing emojis before saying, “Nah you got to give it to [Joe Budden] over Vlad.”

He continued, “So for the record, Drake: the certified number one Hip-Hop artist of right now, the past 15 years, arguably the greatest hip-Hop career ever — his top three is AK, Joe Budden, and No Jumper. He didn’t actually clarify that but he basically said it by saying, ‘You can’t put Vlad in there.'”

See below.

The entire discussion came about after Adam claimed that Joe Budden wasn’t the Crème de la crème in their line of work, which resulted in an exchange of X posts.

“Let’s do the science,” Adam responded in a video about Joe shading his podcast. “Joe Budden’s channel has gotten 12 million views in the past month. No Jumper’s main channel plus our clips channel has done about 26 or 27 million views for the past month. So, we are two times, by far, what you have going on. And on top of that, we kill it on Facebook. We kill it on Snapchat. We have 3 million followers on Instagram and we make a huge amount of money on there.”

“Joe Budden, I don’t wanna hear sh*t. You’re running a chop shop,” he went on. “You might have the whole hip-hop media gassed into thinking that you’re really killing it like that but trust me, when you wanna talk about who’s really doing business out here, it’s not you. There’s a big three and you’re not in it. It’s me, Vlad, and that fat motherf*cker you were sitting with.”

In response, the Jersey City native went off, essentially deeming Adam a “culture vulture” and accusing the LA personality of trying to “force” a beef with him.

“Hate to break it to you buddy, but there was never a media Hip-Hop Big 3,” Joe fired back on X “…. & capitalize that H in HipHop when you speak about it, ‘White Boy.”

“Some you media ni**as been trying to force a beef/relationship w me for years now,” he went on. “I’m too at peace for the contrived hootenanny and my God is too good for me to pretend like he isn’t. Pls don’t let me be a distraction to your plans, with a little more focus you maybe can lose even more!! lol”
