A lot of fashion options out there are inspired by the likes of Snow White, Alice, and Pocahontas - including that ~naughty~ lingerie that just dropped - but Disney itself has launched a line of retro-looking dresses that are perfect for prom. So, princess lovers, your dream of actually being Disney royalty at your prom can seriously happen. Rejoice!
Walt Disney World in Florida just opened The Dress Shop on Cherry Tree Lane in the Disney Springs part of Disney World.
The boutique features dresses that have a sort of '50s vibe and draw from the princesses' stories for their designs. If you're looking for Belle's yellow "Tale As Old As Time" gown, that's not exactly what you'll find. Instead, you'll see cute fit-and-flare silhouettes with bitten poison apples for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, floral patterns and tea-cup designs inspired by Alice in Wonderland, and geometric feather prints meant to represent Pocahontas.
"These items aren't costumes," merchandiser Donna Sorrow told the Disney Parks Blog. "Rather, the collection contains perfect outfits for guests who have a passion for Disney style."
If you're a Disney fan, but not necessarily a princess person, there's also something for you. Dresses designed with a few of the theme park's most popular rides are also available. Think: the '70s-era flowers from "It's a Small World," a bellhop-esque creation that brings the Tower of Terror to mind, and even a spooky Haunted Mansion design.
Dresses will retail from $100 to $160 and are exclusively available at Walt Disney World in Florida for now, but they will soon be sold online. Select pieces will also make their way over to California's DisneyLand at Vault 28 in Anaheim. Sneak a peek at the designs below.
