Disney announces new additions coming to Downtown Disney

New additions are coming to Downtown Disney.

Disney on Wednesday announced an opening timeline for three new restaurants, Paseo, Centrico and Tiendita, which are all slated to open within the next few weeks.

Paseo and Céntrico, a Mexican cuisine-inspired restaurant and bar, will share a space, while Tiendita will be a quick-service restaurant offering grab-and-go Mexican street food classics.

Mexico’s Michelin-starred chef Carlos Gaytán created all three food concepts.

Guests can try items like ceviches and Mama’s cochinita pibil, which is roasted marinated pork, lamb barbacoa and the mejillones, or mussels, at Paseo.

At Céntrico, items like quesabirrias, chicken enchiladas, Caesar salads and tlayuda, a Oaxacan shareable dish reminiscent of a pizza, will be on the menu along with tequila-based cocktails.

Visitors looking for a quick bite to eat can visit Tiendita, which will have items like esquites, or roasted corn, fish tacos, ice cream-stuffed chocolate tacos, chorizo breakfast burritos and chilaquiles, which is are marinated tortilla chips with egg.

Disney also shared that Din Tai Fung will open this summer and that a new steakhouse restaurant and barbecue eatery are in the works for the district. The steakhouse restaurant and barbecue eatery will be where Tortilla Jo’s once stood.

Upgrades are also coming to the location that houses Marceline’s Confectionery. While the work is in progress, guests will soon be able to visit Marceline’s cart, which will sell caramel apples, churro toffee and other handcrafted goodies.

The Disney Dress Shop will also temporarily relocate to the WonderGround Gallery location during the transformation.

The new additions and announcements come amid an ongoing revamp of the outdoor shopping district.

Last year, Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock said the Downtown Disney transformation would take 18 months to complete. The 18-month timeline means officials hope to complete construction shortly before Thanksgiving.
