Dionne Warwick coming to Virginia Beach in July

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Legendary singer and “Queen of TwitterDionne Warwick is coming to Virginia Beach this July.

The six-time Grammy winner will make her first appearance at the Sandler Center at Town Center on Thursday, July 15 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, which start at around $50, go on sale Friday, May 10 at 11 a.m.

Warwick, who ranks among the top 40 hitmakers from the rock era (1955-2012) has sold more 100 million records and has more than 75 charted hit songs, including 18 consecutive 100 singles. Those include “That’s What Friends Are For,” “Say a Little Prayer,” “Alfie,” Don’t Make Me Over” and “Walk on By.”

The 83-year-old was just inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in April and is featured in the recently released Netflix documentary on “We Are the World” called the “Greatest Night in Pop.”

She’s currently wrapping up a tour of the United Kingdom that ends on May 14 in London.
