In case you missed it, the "Dance Moms" gang is getting back together — or at least partially — for a new reunion show.

The original show ran for eight seasons starting in 2011 and took place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dance instructor Abby Lee Miller taught competitive dance to children and teenagers.

But there is a reason the show was called "Dance Moms." Much of the focus was on the drama that spurred from dancers' mothers due to the highly competitive environment created by Miller. Episodes were filled with yelling, tears, swearing and even a few physical altercations.

Were there any dancers from Iowa on 'Dance Moms'?

In the sixth season "Dance Moms" moves to Los Angeles. Two Iowans joined during the seventh season. Jamie Caes and her daughter, Maesi, of Altoona appeared on just one season but left a memorable impact.

On one occasion, Miller called Jamie Caes an expletive after being disappointed in Maesi's performance. Then, when Jamie approached Miller, the dance teacher shouted "Out, I've had it with you! I can't stand any of this! Go! Right now! Go!" before remarking, "This woman Jamie is probably a really nice person, but I have to give her a hard time."

On another occasion, Miller called Jamie the same expletive while holding a pair of scissors and telling the Altoona resident to "back off." After some back and forth, Miller called Jamie "disgusting" and the Iowa mom asked, "How am I disgusting?" In response, the famed instructor looked her up and down before Jamie asks Miller if she's insecure.

JoJo Siwa's mom, Jessalynn, was also born in St. Catherine, Iowa, according to the Dubuque Telegraph Herald. She had extended family that lived in Dubuque and Bellevue.
