Did Jacob Rothschild Have Any Kids?

Lord Jacob Rothschild has died at the age of 87. On Feb. 26, 2024, the financier’s family called him a “towering presence in many people’s lives.” Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair also paid tribute to his friend, exclaiming he was a “wonderful human being” (via BBC).

Member of the Rothschild banking family, the philanthropist started his career at the NM Rothschild & Sons (the family bank). However, Jacob Rothschild later went on to establish his own wealth management fund. He founded the investment trust RIT Capital and chaired it until 2019.

Jacob Rothschild also founded the J Rothschild Assurance Group with Sir Mark Weinberg. It is now known as St James’s Place. He was also the chair of trustees at the National Gallery and chair of the National Heritage Memorial Fund. This made him a prominent figure in the fields of arts and philanthropy. Moreover, the financier was awarded the order of merit in 2002 (via The Guardian).

With the philanthropist making headlines, many are curious about his family, especially his kids.

Jacob Rothschild had four kids

Jacob Rothschild was married to Serena Rothschild for over five decades. Serena passed away in 2019. The couple shared four kids together, three daughters and a son. Hannah, Beth, Emily, and Nathaniel survive their parents. The couple also had several grandchildren (via People).

Their eldest, Hannah, is slated to take over her father’s role as the chair of the Rothschild Foundation. The family has stated that Jacob Rothschild will be buried per the Jewish customs. It will be a small family ceremony and a memorial will be held later.
