Golden State Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojević sadly passed away on Jan. 17, 2023. The former basketball player suffered a sudden heart attack while at a private team dinner on Tuesday and was admitted to a hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Despite immense life-saving efforts, he unfortunately died the next morning on Wednesday (via Guardian).

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said that his assistant “brought joy and light to every single day with his passion” and was “one of the most positive and beautiful human beings” (via BBC). The news came as quite a shock to the team, leaving members extremely devastated.

Dejan Milojević was in his third season with the Warriors, having assisted the team in winning the 2022 NBA championship. He was previously the head coach of KK Budućnost and KK Mega Basket (via People).

In light of Dejan Milojević’s medical emergency, the National Basketball Association (NBA) postponed the Golden State Warriors vs Utah Jazz game. It was scheduled for the night of Jan. 17, 2024. The new date for the same hasn’t been announced as of yet.

The unfortunate news of his passing has made many curious about his family.

Dejan Milojević had two kids

Dejan Milojević is survived by his wife, Natasa Milojević, and shared two kids with her (via USA Today). They tied the knot in the 1990s, and the basketball coach has enjoyed his wife’s love and support throughout his career.

There’s little information on the couple’s two kids, Nikola and Masa. However, the Warriors head coach did mention them in passing in his public statement, extending his condolences to the Milojević family.
