American Idol continued Sunday night when the Top 5 took on Disney Night at Walt Disney World in hopes of making the Top 3 and competing in the finale.
Emmy Russell − also known as Loretta Lynn's granddaughter − belted out an emotional rendition of Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" from “Hannah Montana: The Movie” and her version of Brandi Carlile's "Carried Me With You" from "Onward" struck gold with judges on Disney Night.

Did Emmy Russell make 'American Idol' Top 3?
No. She was one of the three standing when Jack Blocker's name was called as the final singer to advance to the Top 3. Triston Harper also went home.
Russell was a little emotional as she finished Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" from “Hannah Montana: The Movie” on Disney Week and the judges talked about her growth.
"I think you have it and sometimes miracles take a little time," Katy Perry said she thought Russell had “it” and that some miracles take time, adding: "I think your miracle is on the way."
"You're so real. Your voice is just you and real, and that's why you're here right now," Luke Bryan followed.
Lionel Richie just beamed over Russell’s voice.

"Your voice is the complete make-up of who you are. Your voice is your sound," Richie said. “There are stylists and there are singers. You're a stylist. You have your own sound to yourself."
For her second song of the night, Russell took on Brandi Carlile's "Carried Me With You" from Onward.
Perry felt the song's chorus really opened up Russell’s voice: “That’s exactly the voice I want to hear coming out from you time and time again.”
Bryan talked about how much more comfortable Russell looks on stage and addressed her confidence.
“Just start holding those shoulders back and standing up tall and being proud of what you’ve done in this competition and what you are going to do for the rest of your life because certainly, the sky is going to be the limit. You’re just growing so much right in front of our eyes,” Bryan gushed.
Richie expanded on Russell’s confidence, letting her know every singer is nervous before they sing.
“I’m going to teach you a word that we say over and over again when we walk out,” Richie said. “Confidence. Confidence. And then you step on stage and then you blow them away. From now on in your career, remember that. And you blew us away tonight.”
