Dialogues of Diaspora Launches Its First YouTube Talk Show

Production house Dialogues of Diaspora launched the first season of its long-awaited YouTube series, which seeks to uncover the untold stories of the South Asian diaspora.

Kicking off with a run of three episodes, the web series is shot inside London's Dishoom restaurant in Soho and sees a range of creatives from different parts of the industry reflecting on their journeys and their dual heritage. The first episode features Dishoom's Co-Founder Shamil Thakrar and Shalina Patel, Founder of The History Corridor who take a deep dive into British South Asian history.

"As members of the diaspora, we are all rooted in different places and Dishoom - at least for me - has always been a project about identity," Thakrar says in a press release. "This is an idea that we explore and unpack with the wonderful team at Dialogues of Diaspora, who are bringing the richness of our collective South Asian British history to life."

Episode two of the series stars Swiss-Tamil music artist Priya Ragu and TikTok sensation Leo Kalyan, who dissect the South Asian music scene while reflecting on their careers and inspirations. The final episode sees South Asian influencers Simran Randhawa and Arooj Aftab, who discuss their upbringing and culture through conversations surrounding food and fashion.
