'DWTS' Week 8 Results: It's Double Trouble as 2 Couples Go Home

Warning: This recap reveals the elimination results of Week 8 of Dancing With the Stars.

Parting is such sweet sorrow — especially when you don’t get to take a golden mirrorball with you. On Tuesday night’s Dancing With the Stars, fan favorites Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson were ripped apart — on the dance floor, anyway — when they were the first of two couples eliminated from the competition just one week before the Season 20 semifinals.

Less than 24 hours after the “America’s Choice” routines and trio dances, Herjavec and Johnson lost out on their chance to win the first-ever DWTS golden mirrorball trophy on the ABC celebrity ballroom competition. After his elimination, Herjavec said, “This show is such an inspiration for so many people. I’m so honored to have been able to do it. It was so much fun.”

While host Tom Bergeron tried to get the Shark Tank mogul to dish on his flirty relationship with Johnson, teasing, “You may not have won a mirrorball, but I suspect you won someone’s heart,” Herjavec shot back with: “Tom, I’m not sure I feel that way about you.”

Looks like the relationship between the Shark Tank mogul and the popular pro dancer is “Kym-plicated,” as the “Dance Center” guys would say, but maybe someday we’ll find if their kiss on Monday night was part of a real romance or a TV showmance. Adorable eye-batting aside, this shark just wasn’t meant to swim with the big guys, but after signing up for the show to honor his late mother, a DWTS fanatic, Herjavec can truly say his mission was accomplished.

The second casualty of the evening was Chris Soules and his partner, last season’s mirrorball champ, Witney Carson. Despite a rocky run on the show, Prince Farming had finally found his dance this week, the viewer-voted contemporary, which had the judges agreeing that something had finally clicked with The Bachelor star and his partner.

Unfortunately, the elimination night wasn’t all that rosy for Soules. The Iowa farmer got downright emotional when his fate was announced, telling Bergeron: “This has been an incredible experience. I am just thankful to have been a part of it.” The teary-eyed reality star added: “I came here and did something I’ve never done in my entire life and made some progress in something, and it’s just been life-changing. I’m forever grateful.”

Next week: It’s on to the semis for Rumer Willis, Riker Lynch, Noah Galloway, and Nastia Liukin.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
