A Fairfield resident is one of the contestants on the upcoming 21st season of “The Bachelorette.”

Jeremy Simon turns 30 years old next month. He was identified in a “sneak peek” of the 28 men who’ll be courting this season’s bachelorette Jenn Tran.

The season does not start airing until this summer but is already filming. Simon’s name is turning up on social media sites that post spoilers and secrets about the show. According to the posts, Simon was seen on a date this week at Pike Place Market in Seattle, Washington, with the season’s bachelorette Jenn Tran. The date was presumably part of the “one-on-one” aspect of the dating show.

Based on data on sites devoted to “The Bachelor” and its various spin-offs, at least 22 contestants over the years have identified as coming from Connecticut. The number’s higher if you include those who aren’t from here but might have gone to school here or were born here but spent most of their lives elsewhere or other more tenuous connections. Half of the 22 Connecticut names on all the “Bachelor” family of shows are men who’ve appeared on “The Bachelorette.” Some of them have also appeared on “Bachelor in Paradise.”

The 11 previous “Bachelorette” contestants from Connecticut include twin brothers from Brookfield, Justin and Joseph Young, from Season 19 (both of whom went on to Season 8 of “Bachelor in Paradise”), Waterbury’s Matt Labagh, also from Season 19, Southington’s Jordan Chapman from Season 16, Meriden’s Matthew Munson from Season 13 (who was also on “Bachelor in Paradise” Season 4), Stratford’s Kyle Sherwood also from Season 13, Hartford’s Evan Bass from Season 12 (as well as Season 3 of “Bachelor in Paradise”), Windsor Locks’ Shawn Booth from the 11th season (who actually got engaged on the show, though the relationship didn’t last), Ridgefield’s Nick Roy from Season 9, Portland’s Stephen D’Amico from Season 7, all the way back to Ellington’s Spero Stamboulis in Season 4.

“The Bachelorette” airs on ABC and on the streaming channel Hulu. Season 21 is scheduled to air starting in July.
