Crystal Kung Minkoff is keeping busy following her "bittersweet" departure from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

PEOPLE caught up with the Real Coco co-founder, 41, and her husband, Rob Minkoff at the Gold Gala celebrating notable Asian Pacific Islanders on Saturday, May 11.

The day before, the couple marked the 21st anniversary of when they first met. Crystal tells PEOPLE she's enjoying the time away from filming. She and her husband share two children: son Max, 11 and daughter Zoe, 8.

"Our life is very full in general but now I get more vacation," she says. "We like to travel a lot, so now I'm at the computer constantly trying to figure out where we're going to travel."

"Morocco, maybe this year," Crystal shares.

"I want to do a safari with them!" Rob, 61, chimes in. Of course, Rob co-directed the 1994 Disney classic The Lion King — his feature film directorial debut — and the story is inspired by African wildlife.

"Every Sunday, our family is together. I work really hard to pass that along to our kids; we're just always together and that's important," Crystal says.

Crystal was the first Asian American housewife on RHOBH when she joined the show in season 11. She initially butted heads with Sutton Stracke, but the two later became close allies on the show.

The season 14 cast will look dramatically different, as both Crystal and newcomer Annamarie Wiley announced their exits from the show following the season 13 reunion earlier this year.
