Hyphenate Media Group co-founders Cris Abrego and Eva Longoria have set the company’s executive leadership team. Jada Miranda will serve as President of Television, Karla Pita Loor as Chief Strategy Officer and Alex Chang as Chief Operating Officer. All executives will report to Abrego and Longoria.

Most recently, Miranda served as President of Scripted Television and Production of STX Entertainment, focusing on domestic and international co-productions with partners Netflix, SyFy and Prime Video. Before that role, she helped develop series from video game IP, such as Halo at Xbox Entertainment Studios and fan-favorite titles Hannibal, Grimm and Chicago Fire at NBCUniversal. She began her career at HBO, where she co-led Comedy Programming supporting shows like Entourage, The Comeback and executive producing How to Make it In America.

“Jada’s impressive track record speaks for itself. With her vast network and studio experience across domestic and international co-productions and her deep talent relationships, she is the ideal leader to run Hyphenate Originals,” said Longoria, who is Chief Creative Officer of Hyphenate, in a statement. “Cris and I are excited to count on her creativity and vision as we build our television business.”

As Chief Strategy Officer, Pita Loor will drive Hyphenate’s strategic planning and execution and maintain oversight of Communications, Public Relations and Brand Development. In addition to her role at Hyphenate, she continues to support Banijay Americas as an executive consultant, advising the leadership team on communications and public relations, strategic partnerships and corporate social responsibility. Previous experience also includes the title of Chief Development Officer at the Television Academy.

Chang will oversee Finance and Operations across the studio and its labels, developing the operational infrastructure to drive Hyphenate Media Group’s growth as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. He will leverage his experience from his time at Banijay Americas, where he served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Strategy and led investments including the majority acquisition of Brazilian studio A Fabrica. Previous experience includes Quibi and The Walt Disney Company.

“I’ve worked closely with Karla and Alex over the years at Banijay and have consistently counted on their partnership and professional acumen to bolster that business,” said Abrego, who in addition to being CEO of Hyphenate, remains Chairman of the Americas at Banijay. “Eva and I are thrilled to have them join us on this venture and look forward to leaning on their dynamic leadership to deliver on the ambitious strategic and operational goals we have set across our studio business and all our holdings.”

Abrego and Longoria launched Hyphenate in October to develop and produce its own slate—both scripted and unscripted— as well as invest in creator-led companies. The projects are produced for the business with all TV projects directed by Longoria also coming under the new banner. Hyphenate’s first title, Apple TV+’s Land of Women, will be released in summer 2024.
