KIRTLAND, Ohio (WJW) — At The Last Moving Picture Company in Kirtland, each vintage photo holds a memory. From black-and-white to color, just about every movie poster and related photo you can think of lives there, filed away in the mind of 83-year-old Morris Everett Jr.

“I like to see people get what they’re interested in. I love having it,” said Everett with a smile. “I love the fact that somebody [says], ‘Oh you couldn’t possibly have anything on this film.’ Oh, yes I do.”

He’s a collector’s collector, who at one time had more than 100,000 movie titles.

“I bought tons of stuff,” said Everett. “I bought too much, actually. I got myself into financial trouble which, of course, has turned out really well now that I’m selling, because I have the largest stock of movie posters in the United States available for sale. I have a strength in the 20s, 30s and 40s, which hardly anybody else has, so people keep buying from my eBay store.”

His online store, called LastMo, sells about 40 items per week, Everett said.

“You look up your favorite actor or actress Norma Shearer, Leslie Howard, Basil Rathbone and — ‘bing, bing, bing’ — it brings you to us,” he said.

What has the most financial value changes over time. Right now, the hottest buys are for sci-fi and horror vintage movie posters, said Everett.

“Star Wars is still hot. You see Star Wars all the time. Collectible, but will Star Wars hold up? I don’t know. Not so sure,” he said.

That mystery is part of the fun.

“We sold a poster once for $80,000. That was a number of years ago. It was ‘The Invisible Man’ with Claude Rains, 1933,” said Everett.

He considers himself a keeper of history.

These posters and the stories behind them are adored and stored by a devoted fan of moving pictures.

“I love it, it’s great,” Everett said.
