The Collabs: Sea Star x Frances Valentine Are Ready for Spring Flowers + More News

Feb. 24, 2021: Sea Star Beachwear‘s latest collaboration, coming out on April 1, is inspired by spring flowers and retro style. The new capsule collection of footwear and bags was created in partnership with Frances Valentine (the lifestyle brand co-founded by Elyce Arons and the late Kate Spade) and features a brightly hued floral print that gives off midcentury home decor vibes. Shoe styles in the line include Sea Star’s signature Beachcomber espadrille and its new Cabana slide sandal, as well as a Mary Jane silhouette that’s a best-seller for Frances Valentine. Prices range from $45-$96 for the shoes, and $36-$125 for the three bags. The collection will be available at Seastarbeachwear.com.

Feb. 23, 2021: Atoms will release a limited-edition sneaker with “Queer Eye” star and British-Pakastani American fashion designer, Tan France. On sale Feb. 23, the sneaker will retail for $129 and be available to order through March 2 on Atoms.com. France, who can often be spotted in the brand’s signature Model 000, worked with the brand’s design team to incorporate his favorite pattern into the shoe: stripes. Additionally, last month, Atoms co-founder Sidra Qasim was featured in Humans of New York sharing her story of what it was like to grow up as a girl in a conservative household in Pakistan and how she launched a footwear brand with her husband, Waqas Ali.

Feb. 19, 2021: Cougar Shoes is tapping local artist and designer Jill Malek to redesign the brand’s best-selling silhouette. Giving a new twist on the signature Kensington Chelsea Rain Boot, Malek created a custom pattern designed exclusively for Cougar Shoes; the print takes inspiration from the beauty of rain and the light it shines, called the “rainshine” pattern. The collection consists of four limited-edition colorways — Tea, Lake, Mica and Night — and is now live for $70 a pair at cougarshoes.com as well as other retailers.

Feb. 17, 2021: Jimmy Choo has teamed up with Parisian designer Marine Serre to create a collaborative footwear collection. The capsule, which features a sharp black, white, tan and red colorway, offers six key styles, including sock ankle boots, heels, sneakers and more. All styles feature Marine Serre’s leitmotif crescent logo. Of the launch, Sandra Choi, Creative Director Jimmy Choo said: “Marine Serre is an exciting talent — her innovation and experimentation grabbed my attention. Her designs are bold, confident and inherently feminine — which is perfectly attuned to our language at Jimmy Choo.” The collection will be available on Feb. 17 at Jimmy Choo Flagships, JimmyChoo.com and exclusively with My Theresa.

Feb. 15, 2021: SNS is gearing up to release the brand’s ready-to-wear collection, “La Collection Mercure.” The capsule collection takes inspiration from Mercury, the god of shopkeepers, thieves and tricksters. The drop includes silk shirts, knitted beanies and intricately crafted crewnecks. Additionally, the brand has teamed up with Adidas Originals for a Friends & Family only Adidas Originals Forum 84 High, which offers a luxurious take on the retro silhouette with faux snakeskin overlays, suede accents, and gold foiled branding. The SNS ”La Collection Mercure” will be exclusively available on sneakersnstuff.com and in all open SNS locations on February 24th.

Feb. 11, 2021: New York-based apparel brand Krost has joined forces with Fila to create a new footwear silhouette. Called the Renno sneaker, the shoe combines Fila’s running and performing history with streetwear designs. The shoe is completed with Krost’s signature clean aesthetic. The sneaker features a navy, white and gray colorway and is equipped with recycled leather with a blend of nylon, suede and ripstop mesh. In promotion of the sneaker, Krost founder, Samuel Krost, launched a campaign that highlights activists who are committed to crucial social issues via organizations, including: Food Bank New York, March for Our Lives, Stomp Out Bullying and more. The Krost x Fila Renno is limited to 100 pairs and will be available on KrostNewYork.com on Feb. 12 with a $118 price tag.

Feb. 10, 2021: Oofos has scored a new collab partner with serious sport cred. Next week, the recovery shoe company will unveil a limited-edition OOah SportFlex sandal created with Re-inc, the lifestyle brand founded in 2019 by U.S. women’s national soccer stars Megan Rapinoe, Christen Press, Tobin Heath and Meghan Klingenberg. Re-inc is a purpose-driven label offering gender-fluid designs. So the OOah SportFlex slide is a unisex style with an adjustable upper strap for an optimal fit. It also features Oofos’ proprietary OOfoam technology, said to absorb 37% more impact. The collab sandal will launch on the Re-inc website on Feb. 17, retailing for $100.

Feb. 2, 2021: For spring ’21, Teva and Anna Sui partnered on a limited-edition floral capsule collection. The collaboration features two styles: the Flatform Universal Anna and the Ember Mid Anna. Each look is detailed with Liberty Fabrics print, called “Botanist’s Diary,” which is a colorful pressed botanical print with flowers that are traditionally found in English gardens. The Flatform, retailing for $150, is a take on the classic Teva sandal, but updated with a nearly 3-inch platform and recycled polyester webbing. The Ember Mid, meanwhile, is a sneaker boot detailed with a water repellent upper. It retails for $190. The Teva x Anna Sui collection is available for purchase at Teva.com, Annasui.com, Free People, Bloomingdale’s and American Rag today.

Jan. 25, 2021: Having already created a buzz with his Anta SB-01 and SB-02 shoes, FN 2020 Designer of the Year Salehe Bembury made fans even more eager for his project with the China-based athletic company by revealing accompanying apparel.Available on Jan. 26 via Beaspunge.com is the collaborative “Nature Is Your Friend” hoodie and T-shirt, with retail prices of $140 and $70, respectively. The designer will deliver the hoodies in “Midnight Mango” and “Pitaya” colorways, while the T-shirts will be sold in “Quadruple Black” and “Sunset Peel” hues.

Jan. 24, 2021: Brazilian footwear brand Melissa created two custom looks for the Y/Project fall ’21 virtual runway show. Designed by Y/Project creative director Glenn Martens, the collab shoes included an ornate mule inspired by porcelain figurines from the Rococo period; and a classic slide with Persian rug motifs and paintbrush prints. Both styles will be available starting in May at the Melissa concept stores in New York, London and Sao Paolo, and via Y/Project’s network. The mule will retail for $250 and the slide for $98.
