Colin Donnell

FBI: International may be losing Luke Kleintank, but at least it's gaining Colin Donnell. According to People, the Arrow and Chicago Med alum will be joining the Fly Team for the final two episodes of the season, which also happen to be the first two episodes after Kleintank exits. No character details are available just yet, but is it too soon and too much to hope that perhaps Donnell is playing the new boss?

Currently, Kleintank stars as Scott Forrester, the Supervisory Special Agent at the head of the Fly Team, which is based in Budapest and handles FBI cases all over the world. Forrester has been leading the team since day one, but now we know his days are limited as Kleintank announced his departure on April 23.

“After much thought and consideration, I’ve made the difficult decision to leave FBI: International,” he said in a statement. “This decision is driven by my unwavering commitment to my family, whose love and well-being are paramount in my life. I’m profoundly thankful for the extraordinary cast and crew of the show, who have not only been colleagues but also a family away from home. Their unwavering dedication and remarkable talents have made every moment on set an unforgettable journey that has enriched my life in countless ways. Lastly, I would also like to extend my thanks to the fans who have supported us through the first three seasons.”

His final episode will air Tuesday, May 7, and Donnell will appear in the Tuesday, May 14 episode as well as the finale on May 21. This marks yet another shakeup for the youngest of the FBI dramas after a season full of changes. Original star Heida Reed, who played Special Agent Jamie Kellett, left during the Season 3 premiere, and newbie Greg Hovanessian, who played Special Agent Damian Powell, was written out in March. The team also adjusted to new headquarters and a few promotions, and welcomed new intelligence analyst Amanda Tate, played by Christina Wolfe.

Donnell is best known for playing Tommy Merlyn on Arrow and Dr. Connor Rhodes on Chicago Med. He left Chicago Med after four seasons in 2019, and has since starred in the Peacock drama Irreverent.

FBI: International airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
