Coldplay and Natalia Imbruglia Honor Olivia Newton-John With 'Grease' Song Performance

Coldplay is currently on their Music of Spheres World Tour and they brought out surprise guests to pay tribute to the late Olivia Newton-John. 

The singer/actress passed away on August 8, 2022, at the age of 73 due to an ongoing battle with breast cancer.

The British pop-rock band played a show at the Wembley Stadium on August 16 where they welcomed Natalia Imbruglia and Jacob Collier onto the stage to sing 'Summer Nights' from 1975 movie, Grease, which featured Newton-John herself.

To honor her, Imbruglia incapsulated the late actress' part, while Chris Martin took on John Travolta's, who played her love interest, Danny Zuko. Collier accompanied the two while providing vocals and playing the piano.

The crowd cheered for the singers before they started to play the song, and shortly after, the stadium that fills 90,000 people sang in unison with Martin and Imbruglia, causing what appeared to be a magical moment in history.

Coldplay is no stranger to surprising fans with musical guests while on tour. 

During the band's Atlanta tour date in June, they welcomed Kelly Rowland onto the stage to perform Destiny's Child's hit song, "Independent Women Part 1."

Then, the band had two shows back-to-back at New Jersey's Metlife Stadium, where they surprised fans with Kylie Minogue while they sang her tune, "Can't Get You Out of My Head."

The second night, the band brought out New Jersey-native Bruce Springsteen to play a rendition of "Working on a Dream" and "Dancing in the Dark."

Coldplay is currently on the UK leg of their tour, which will end in Glasgow, Scotland, on August 24. The band will finish off in South America in November.
