Coi Leray Partners With Foot Locker For “Start With Sneakers” Adidas Campaign

Foot Locker has tapped Coi Leray as the brand ambassador for their latest Women’s campaign, “Start With Sneakers,” which sees the Grammy-nominated rapper pair her own style with Adidas’ Originals.
The iconic apparel brand that has been helmed in Hip-Hop for decades sees the striped shoe make a comeback with silhouettes fit for all style occasions. In the ad, the “Playas” artist sports timeless kicks including the Originals Gazelle, SL 72, Campus 00, Gazelle Bold, Samba OG, and Sambae.
“Collaborating with Foot Locker for the ‘Start with Sneakers’ campaign has been an exciting way to begin my relationship with this iconic brand,” Coi exclusively told VIBE. “Growing up in Hip-Hop culture, sneakers have always been source of expression for me; even now, sneakers are at the core of my outfits – from red carpets to festival stages.”
“For this campaign, I’m showcasing adidas classics with the latest style trends, so all my ladies know how to keep it fly this season,” she added.
The Global sneaker retailer’s all-new Women’s campaign “redefines sneaker culture through a social-first, customer-centric approach,” and selected Coi because of how she “authentically connects with women through trend-forward content and her effortlessly cool signature style.”
The 26-year-old has already created trends with her hair and fashion, and has also contributed to the rise of body positivity amongst women rappers. And as brand ambassador, she aligns with the campaign as it wants to appeal to all women, no matter if their style is “corporate chic” or “crochet baddie with a Venice beach twist.”
In the official “Start With Sneakers” commercial, the New Jersey native shows off her fashion skills as she offers styling advice to customers who have no idea how to rock their Adidas.
“Coi, we’ve got a style request on these Gazelles,” the manager urgently tells her as she sits like a boss in her office. “You got it!” she replies. The 30-second clip then shows Coi rocking a red Adidas dress with the requested shoe.
In another scene, the “Blick Blick” rhymer is asked to make a “corporate chic” outfit using the Originals Campus 00s, to which she nails with biker shorts and a blazer. For the ultimate task, Coi styles the Originals SL 72 with a colorful crocheted dress, jean jacket, and flowers on her socks to make a “crochet baddie with a Venice beach twist.”
