Chance Perdomo Remembered by ‘Gen V’ and ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ Co-Stars: “This Hurts”

Members of Prime Video’s Gen V and Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina took to social media this weekend to remember their late co-star, Chance Perdomo, who recently died in a motorcycle accident.

Perdomo was 27. He was best known for playing Andre Anderson in Gen V, a popular student at Godolkin University who is capable of magnetically manipulating things. The actor also appeared in Ambrose Spellman in Netflix’s Sabrina. Ambrose was the cousin of protagonist Sabrina, played by Kiernan Shipka.

Patrick Schwarzenegger, Perdomo’s Gen V co-star who portrays Luke, Andre’s best friend, posted on his Instagram Stories Sunday with several photos of himself and his late friend, the last with the message, “Hope you’re up in heaven with a cigar.”

Schwarzenegger later posted to X, formerly Twitter, “This hurts. A lot. What a young talented actor, and a great friend – gone way too soon.”

He also added that Perdomo was “a pleasure to work with.”

A statement from Perdomo’s reps confirming his death on Saturday noted that the actor’s “passion for the arts and insatiable appetite for life was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth will carry on in those who he loved dearest.” It continued, “We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their beloved son and brother.”

On Saturday, Gen V producers said in a statement that “we can’t quite wrap our heads around this. For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person. Even writing about him in the past tense doesn’t make sense. We are so sorry for Chance’s family, and we are grieving the loss of our friend and colleague. Hug your loved ones tonight.”

The Gen V cast later released a joint statement, saying, “Our hearts are with Chance’s loved ones as we grieve this shocking loss. We will remember the special moments we had together, his infectious smile that could light up any room, his warm hugs and the authenticity he carried with him always. Rest in peace dear friend, you will be deeply missed.”

Elsewhere on social media, The Boys star Antony Starr, called Perdomo’s passing “so goddamn tragic.” Gen V is a spinoff series of The Boys; Starr also appeared in the season one finale of Gen V.

The Boys actors Erin Moriarty, Jack Quaid and Karen Fukuhara also re-shared Prime Video’s Instagram tributes to Perdomo on their own accounts on Sunday.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina actress Skye Marshall posted her own reflection on Perdomo’s passing, writing that she is “sending love to his whole family, his amazing mother who is shattered, and to the #caos friends & fans grieving this massive loss.”

Marshall played Mambo Marie LeFleur on Sabrina, a voodoo witch who helped Ambrose in his various endeavors.

“Chance is my baby,” she continued. “A kind, precious man who’s extraordinarily gifted, very intelligent, loving hugger, energetic, radiant force of nature with a beautiful vibrant soul and a bright childlike smile, moving to the beat of his own drum. We’d both light up every single time we saw each other. The last communication we shared was last month, and my final words to him were, ‘I love you!!’ And he knew it. I’m in a state of shock and devastation, as so many are. I’m not ready to process this pain.”

Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos also took to Instagram to pay tribute to the late actor this weekend, writing that “Chance was a gifted young actor lost too early. He was so great to work with on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Everyone at Netflix is sending love and strength to Chance’s entire family and his big family of friends.”

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, writer for Sabrina, wrote on Instagram that Perdomo was “one of the most talented young actors I’ve ever had the privilege to work with,” and noted that his death is “heartbreaking and staggering.”
