Cassie Steele Drops Sustainable Thong Line With Hot Lava

Manny Santos’ thong moment in Degrassi goes down in TV show history as one of the most iconic and formative scenes for millennials everywhere and slow fashion brand Hot Lava is honoring that pivotal moment as the Los Angeles-based women's streetwear brand has partnered with Cassie Steele to unveil the actor’s own line of thongs.

In collaboration with designer Rachael Finley and OG Insta-girl-quasi-boss babe, the line of intimates is crafted from deadstock fabric that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill. Featuring four mesh styles arriving in lace and playful patterns, like the floral “Mrs. Manning” print and a black-and-white dotted “Cuckoo Bananas” style accented with a bold green hem. The range of undergarments is also accompanied by saucy bras, such as the “Hot Bralette” – a perfect Y2K blue lace bra outfitted with flame-like rhinestones, alongside a matching underwear with the Paris Hilton-approved phrase, “HOT” embellished on the rear.

In an interview with Nylon, Finley says, “For this first collection, we wanted to make an updated homage to a very culturally important piece of media for our generation, the thong moment and what it means to be a multidimensional woman who wants to be hot. We couldn’t launch thongs with Cassie Steele without doing it.”

The latest line of thongs comes in sizes XS through 4XL with prices ranging from $18 to $24 USD and is available to shop on Hot Lava’s website.
