Candytopia, The Candy-Themed Funhouse, Is Back And Feels Like A Real Life Willy Wonka Factory

I hope you're ready for some sweet news because what I'm about to tell you really takes the cake. As someone who is a true candy fanatic (probably more than I should be, honestly!), I have been very, very disappointed in myself for not making it to Candytopia during its time in my area. So, of course, when I heard it was finally back and making a stop in the Atlanta area, I immediately knew it was my time to shine. And, the good folks at Candytopia must've known that, too, because they invited me to come out and see what it was all about. Am I lucky or am I lucky?
For those of you that aren't familiar, Candytopia is a "fantastical factory of fun" that is now considered to be my own oasis of confectionery bliss. Or, in other words, a real life version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Sounds like a dream, right? Due to COVID-19, Candytopia shut down in April 2020. Now though, she's back and making her first appearance in Philadelphia and Atlanta for the summer.
So, what does this round of Candytopia entail? Well, I am here to tell you that it is indeed one of the best candy-themed funhouses that you'll ever experience. And, if you happened to experience all of the fun that it offered pre-COVID, then you'll be happy to know that not much has changed about the way they operate.
From the time you walk in the doors of the "candy-coated pop-up," you're greeted with nothing but a good time. Featuring singing and energetic dancing by the super helpful ambassadors, the moment you enter the branded brass doors, you have no choice but to feel like a kid again. And, yes, there is more than enough candy in each of the rooms to soothe your sweet tooth.
Speaking of candy, if you needed confirmation that this exhibition is made with real candy, you have my humble assurance that each piece is, in fact, made with real edible candy! Though you cannot eat them (and I wouldn't recommend because—you know—gross), all of the pieces that are on display are made with different candies and have signs near them indicating what was used to make them, how long it took, and how many candies were needed—all the good stuff you're dying to know.
Now while I can spend at least a good hour or two telling you about every single one of the more than a dozen candy-filled environments, I'll spare you my over excitement and just let you know that you can't go wrong when visiting Candytopia. It doesn't matter which room you go into, every single one of the over 12 candy-themed environments has something that will excite you. I mean, there's even a fox made of candy corn and jelly beans! CANDY CORN, Y'ALL!
But perhaps my favorite room of them all was the final room: the unicorn marshmallow pit. It was literally a dream come true for the kid in me and if I could have spent hours being buried under hundreds and hundreds of fake marshmallows, I absolutely would have. I have no idea what it is about diving into a huge pit of squishy pieces of foam that makes you feel at home, but this was truly the icing on the cake for a perfect day.
If you're wondering how they're handling things with COVID, they are still adhering to the CDC's guidelines with masks being strongly encouraged, but not mandatory for those who have been fully vaccinated. Hand sanitizing stations are also found throughout the showcase, too. And don't think you can just pop up at the door of this pop-up for tickets. Reservations must be made in advance online with ticket prices being $28 for adults, $20 for kids aged 4 to 12, and free for those under the age of three.
