Cheryl Hickey is getting candid about making time for herself.

On Wednesday, the "ET Canada" host took to Instagram to share a selfie paired with an inspirational message about how she prioritizes her well-being "in order to be there for others."

"Attention world. Hello, my name is Cheryl and I’m done asking for permission to take time for myself," she penned to her more than 92,000 followers.

The 46-year-old explained that putting herself first allows her to show up as the best version of herself for her family.

"In order to be there for others, it’s important, especially as women, mothers and caregivers, that we take care of ourselves first, so that we feel and look our best to take on whatever life throws at us," she wrote.

For Hickey, making time for herself means exercising, eating healthy meals, taking care of her skin, spending time with her friends, meditating or reading.

"For me, that’s taking the time to get my steps in, taking time to prep a healthy meal, time with my friends, and taking care of my skin with treatments like [Ultherapy], or just reading a book or meditating. What do you do to take care of yourself first?" she concluded.

Hickey's post was met with supportive messages from fans, along with praise for urging moms to look after their health.

One Instagram user replied: "This is such a fantastic reminder to all of us amazing women that it’s OK to 'pause' and hit the 'reset' button — unapologetically! In fact, [I'm] doing that right now! Just arrived at my destination and taking some much-needed 'me-time.' It feels incredible! Thank you for this reminder, Cheryl."

"Love that. Good for you, sister!" another chimed in.

"I love this," someone else commented, while another added, "Thanks so much for sharing this! I feel like women and moms are especially wired to put others ahead of ourselves — inherent caregivers. So, it's so important that we carve out time to take care of ourselves. How can I be a good mama and wife and friend if I'm not even showing love to myself first?"

The mom-of-two often uses her platform to advocate for self-love. On June 16, she shared a makeup-free selfie alongside a caption about learning to "enjoy" her bare skin without feeling self-conscious.

"No filter fun!" she wrote. "Wearing makeup can be such a crutch for so many of us, that we feel naked without it on. I admit, growing up, I was very self-conscious of my uneven skin texture and tone."

She explained that while she's required to wear makeup for her job as an on-air TV presenter, she likes to go makeup-free whenever she can to take a "break from the fake."

"I need to wear makeup for my work, so I’ve been making an effort to go without it whenever I can," Hickey continued. "To give my mind a break from the fake. It’s refreshing to just enjoy your own skin and take care of it so you glow without makeup. Some of the ways I do that are by trying to drink two litres of water a day, exercise, eat well, get my [Ultherapy] treatments and take time to relax. How do you feel about no makeup?"
