Burberry and PRIM Launch Black History Month Bookstore

Disruptive storytelling platform PRIM has relaunched its pop-up book store for Black History Month for a second year running, this time in partnership with Burberry and NOW Gallery.

Taking place at London's Design District in North Greenwich, the four-day pop-up will play host to a number of exhibitions and activations tailored to the local community, including a premiere of PRIM's debut film Power in Reading.

"The power of storytelling can amplify unheard voices and create a unified understanding of lived experiences," notes Burberry's VP of DE&I, Geoffrey Williams in a press release. "We are excited to come together with PRIM to showcase different voices from the Black community, both through UK Black History Month and beyond, as we hope conversations that begin through the activation continue and grow. By creating inclusive platforms for individuals to explore their creativity and expand their knowledge, we can take meaningful steps toward a more inclusive future."

"This is a real moment for Black British authors, writers, artists and those creating and sharing stories in every medium. Support from Burberry in this way means the world to us and it's a great way to kick off PRIM's year-on-year commitment to platform storytellers of Black ancestry," adds K Bailey Obazee from PRIM.

The program of events is set to include performances from TianaMajor9, TAWIAH and Kadeen Tyrell alongside poetry readings hosted by Chloe Filani, live portraiture sessions with Bernice Mulenga and a Vogue Ball hosted by The House of Bodega.
