With the release of Bridgerton Season 3, viewers are curious to know who Cressida Cowper marries and ends up with in the show. Cressida Cowper is known to be a vain and mean woman who delights in bullying and spreading gossip about her rivals, such as Daphne Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington. However, she seemingly changes her ways in Season 3 after befriending Eloise Bridgerton.

Who does Cressida get married to in Bridgerton Season 3?

Cressida Cowper does not likely get married in Bridgerton Season 3.

However, in the books, she does get married and her marriage takes place before Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton’s romance begins. Cowper marries Lord Twombley in the second book, The Viscount Who Loved Me, which served as the source material for Season 2’s story. However, Twombley dies before the events of the fourth book, Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, leaving Cressida a widow facing financial difficulties.

How Bridgerton Season 3 changes Cressida’s story from the book

Bridgerton Season 3 heavily changes Cressida’s storyline from the books. One key change is Cressida not getting married to anyone before Penelope and Colin’s romance starts. In the books, Eloise and Cressida’s friendship angle is also not explored, which becomes an important turning point in the latter’s character arc in the show. Further, the entire plotline where Cressida pretends to be Lady Whistledown, from Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, is completely absent from the show.

In this storyline, Lady Danbury offers 1,000 pounds to anyone who can discern and reveal Lady Whistledown’s identity. Cressida, in need of money following her husband’s death, claims that she is Whistledown. However, Danbury and Penelope dismiss her claims. When Penelope writes a gossip piece exposing her, Cressida figures out Penelope’s real identity. She then uses it to blackmail Penelope for money. However, things don’t end up in Cressida’s favor, leading to her exile, as per Business Insider.
