Bravo's Andy Cohen tests positive for the coronavirus, urges 'everybody to stay home'

Andy Cohen has tested positive for COVID-19.

Cohen, 51, made the announcement on Instagram Friday. “After a few days of self-quarantine, and not feeling great, I have tested positive for Coronavirus,” wrote the television personality. “As much as I felt like I could push through whatever I was feeling to do #WWHL from home, we’re putting a pin in that for now so I can focus on getting better.”

He added, “I want to thank all the medical professionals who are working tirelessly for all of us, and urge everybody to stay home and take care of themselves.”

Cohen was to shoot Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live from his New York City apartment with interviews filmed via video chat amid the coronavirus pandemic. New episodes were scheduled to start airing Sunday.

Well-wishes for the late-night host poured in on social media.

"Love you. Take care of yourself," Today’s Savannah Guthrie wrote.

"Sending you love and healing, Andy. Get better so quickly!!!!!" added Busy Philipps.

John Mayer, who was booked as a guest on WWHL next week, commented, "Rest up. Love you with all my heart."

Cohen replied to Mayer, "See you on #WWHL on the flip side my man."

The Radio Andy host has been practicing social distancing, as evident on his Instagram page. He is father to son, Benjamin, who turned 1 last month.

Tom Hanks, Idris Elba and Daniel Day Kim are among the celebrities who have come forward with their coronavirus diagnoses.

On Friday, former Bachelor Colton Underwood publicly revealed that he tested positive for COVID-19. The 28-year-old reality star, who said he works out and maintains a healthy diet, urged young people to take the threat of the coronavirus seriously.
