'The Boys' Spinoff 'Gen V' Won't Recast Actor Who Tragically Died in a Motorcycle Accident

Following the tragic death of Gen V actor Chance Perdomo in a motorcycle crash back in March, the producers of The Boys spinoff announced that Perdomo's role will not be recast. The 27-year-old had been traveling through upstate New York on his way to Toronto to begin filming on season two when the crash occurred, but it was previously unclear whether producers would recast or rework the writing.

"As we continue to navigate the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory," the producers said in a statement on Sunday. "We won’t be recasting the role, because no one can replace Chance. Instead, we have been taking the time and space to recraft our season two storylines as we begin production in May."

The statement added they plan to honor Chance and his legacy in the upcoming season.

There are still few details stemming from the accident that took the actor's life late March 29 or early March 30, but local authorities have confirmed that no other vehicles were involved. The principle cast, including Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Asa Germann, and Shelley Conn, had been set for the first table read for season two the day the news broke of the crash.

Spoilers ahead, but it's also unclear how Perdomo's passing will affect season four of The Boys, which is expected to premiere on June 13, 2024. The final scene in season one of Gen V featured Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) to the Vought facility where Perdomo's character Andre Anderson, Marie Moreau (Sinclair), Emma Meyer (Broadway), Cate Dunlap (Phillips), and and Derek Luh (Thor) had been taken following the showdown in the season finale.
