Bounty on Broad in Memphis closes after a decade in business: 'Saying goodbye is bittersweet'

Bounty on Broad announced Wednesday that it has permanently closed after 10 years in business.

In a statement released Wednesday, the restaurant thanked Memphians for their support over the past decade.

"Over the past decade, Bounty on Broad has been more than just a restaurant; it has been a gathering place for people from all walks of life," the statement read. "Our success and longevity were made possible by the unwavering support of the Memphis community. We have had the privilege of celebrating countless special moments with you, and it's been an honor to contribute to the city's food scene."

Located at 2519 Broad Ave., Bounty on Broad specialized in "uncompromisingly" gluten-free cuisine, while remaining a place anyone could enjoy regardless of their diet. It served a wide range of meals like salmon, duck breast, lamb shank and omelets, as well as a variety of cocktails.

In the statement, Bounty on Broad owner Michael Tauer expressed gratitude to both patrons and staff.

“My family and I are profoundly grateful to all of those whose hard work and passion made Bounty on Broad so successful and to all of our guests over the years for honoring us with the opportunity to serve them," Tauer said. "While saying goodbye is bittersweet, we are excited about the future and what it holds for each of us and for the Broad Avenue Art District. We encourage you to continue supporting local businesses and the thriving culinary scene in Memphis."
