Another familiar face is coming back for the upcoming Marvel TV series.

Another familiar face is showing up in set photos for Daredevil: Born Again. We now know that Jon Bernthal will officially be returning in the role of Frank Castle, a.k.a. the Punisher.

Initially, all we knew about the upcoming Marvel TV show was that Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio were reprising their respective roles as the superhero Matt Murdock/Daredevil and the villainous Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. But back in February, set photos from Daredevil: Born Again confirmed that supporting characters Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) and Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) would also be returning from the 2015-2018 Daredevil series that was originally produced for Netflix.

Now we know that Bernthal's Punisher is along for the ride too. He looks pretty bloody in the photos, which probably means he's living up to his name by punishing criminals.

Bernthal originally made his debut as Punisher in season 2 of Daredevil, before spinning off into his own The Punisher series for another two seasons. The solo show also starred Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Frank's friend and technical wiz Micro, but don't expect him to show up in Daredevil: Born Again since Moss-Bachrach just got a different Marvel role as The Thing in the upcoming Fantastic Four film.

In the final moments of Marvel's recent Echo miniseries, Fisk realized that there was an opening in the upcoming New York City mayoral race, and the supervillain might be about to throw his hat in the political ring now that his criminal operations fell apart out in Oklahoma. It's hard to imagine that either Punisher or Daredevil will be too happy about a known villain trying to take over the city, even through legitimate means.

Bernthal also shared a photo of himself, Cox, and Woll sitting, while grinning in a black and white shot.

There is still no official release date for Daredevil: Born Again, but clearly those involved are happily hard at work on it.
