If you’ve ever wondered whether or not you’re a good kisser, there’s an objective way to find out: kiss a stranger.

That’s what a group of people were asked to do in a social experiment called Who’s the Best Kisser? conducted by the entertainment website the Cut, in an effort to prove that attraction is more complicated than it seems.

A video of the stunt was posted Wednesday to the brand’s YouTube channel; it involved a group of blindfolded volunteers kissing six strangers and rating their make-out skills.

The volunteers, who did not know whether their kissing partners were men or women, were asked to rate their partners on the spot. “You smell phenomenal,” one female volunteer told her male kisser, “but a little over-exuberant, my friend.” The same woman told another male kisser, “You smell like wood. It’s good.”

One man rated his male partner a “four” because his skills were “a little too soft.” And a woman said of her kisser, “I like that whoever I kissed grabbed my face.”

After the challenge, one man asked his male partner, “As a straight dude, how do you feel knowing you kissed me?” The other guy answered, “Honestly, man, I’m pretty comfortable with my sexuality, so it’s whatever. We can go grab a beer, hang out… I’m not going to kiss him again, but…”

Another guy commended his blindfolded male partner by saying, “I do appreciate your comfort in terms of kissing guys and not just clamming up. I have respect for that, especially as someone who’s straight. Although, who knows afterward?” His partner replied, “I don’t know about that one!”

In the end, those with the highest kissing score earned themselves a make-out session — blindfold-free — with the volunteer who rated them, if they so desired. A sweet ending.
