Hosted by none other than country music icon Reba McEntire, the 2024 Academy of Country Music Awards on Thursday, May 16, were an impressive show of talent, with both well-known artists and new faces–Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were no exception.

The celebrity couple that took the stage performing their latest duet "Purple Irises."

During their lively performance, Stefani, 54, and Shelton, 47, showed off their natural chemistry as they took over the stage, wowing the audience. Stefani also dazzled with her fashion, donning a sparkly violet shirt that was designed to look like the flower the tune was named after and matching leggings while her husband went for a simpler look that included a pair of jeans, a button-up and a matching sports coat.

Fans of the couple took to social media to rave about the performance, with reactions like, "Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are the only reason to watch this annoying awards show" and "great love duo."

"Blake Shelton singing a love song duet with Gwen Stefani in front of his ex wife... Bold," another said of Shelton's romantic history with fellow country star Miranda Lambert.

"Also Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are so cute together Awh," a fourth shared.

Neither Stefani nor Shelton were nominated for an award at the event this year, although Shelton has won numerous ACM Awards in the past. The couple was also nominated in 2021 for Music Event of the Year for their duet "Nobody But You."

The ACM Awards show this year was filled with impressive duets. Along with Stefani and Shelton, Kelsea Ballerini teamed up with rising star Noah Kahan to sing a mashup of songs which included his hit "Stick Season." Dua Lipa even surprised the crowd, showing up to perform "Think I'm in Love With You" with Chris Stapleton.

The event also included many more performances from icons in the industry, with Jason Aldean, Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll, just to name a few.
